INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS · QUICK CHECK
Pause before you confirm a payment.
A practical check for freelancers and small businesses earning across borders, including independent workers in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana.
Before money moves
Confirm funds in your receiving account.
Open the account or app you normally use and confirm the funds are credited. A screenshot, payment notice, or forwarded email alone does not confirm receipt.
Verify changed payment instructions independently.
If payment instructions or account details change, confirm the change with the sender through a contact method you already trust. Do not rely on phone numbers or links in the change request.
Keep passwords and one-time codes private.
Never share your password, PIN, recovery phrase, or one-time code in response to a message or call.
Pause on unexpected urgent fee or refund requests.
Before paying a fee to release funds or returning an overpayment, check your account and confirm the request with the payer through a channel you already know.
Match the payment to your agreed terms.
Compare the amount, currency, sender, and reference with your invoice or agreement. If something does not match, ask the client using contact details you already have.
If a detail feels unusual, pause and verify it through contact details you already trust.
